FO Report:  Molly
Designer: Debbie Bliss
Pattern Source: Pattern available in Junior Knits
Yarn:
Wool of the Andes, color Mulled wind-- five skeins
Yarn Source: Knitpicks.com  Needle Size:
US 8
Gauge:  18 sts = 4"
Date Completed: February 2005
Recipient:  My daughter

Here's my daughter posing in her new "princess sweater."  (This is what we have to do to get her to wear clothing of any sort in my house ... convince her that it either has to do with ponies, strawberry shortcake, or princesses.)  She is 2 1/2 here, and I knit the ages 3-5 size, so the sweater is obviously a little large.  That's okay ... she'll get lots of use out of it this way!  I'm intending to make a little flower pin with leftover yarn so that we can keep the sweater closed ... if I do, I'll update this page.  The knitpicks wool turned out well in this project -- I only wish they carried more pink colors, as it's a requirement for anything that my daughter puts on.  My daughter has already been wearing this for a few weeks, and yes, I'm seeing a little bit of pilling.  I blame this on the somewhat looser gauge of 4.5 sts, and I think this yarn would hold up better at 5 sts. (Just the opinion of an opinionated knitter.)  I am still in love with this yarn ... you can't beat the price!

That is totally cute! I just made that for my (3yo) daughter too, and I loved that pattern. I may work it out to big-girl size, for me! (My daughter loves Jay Jay, too.)

I have great admiration for any mother who manages to take care of her children AND knit for them. I can only manage one or the other!

Lovely sweater! I don't think that I've grown out of my phase of only wearing things that have to do with ponies, strawberry shortcake or princesses. Should all clothing be placed in one of those categories?

Yeah, she's way cuter than the DB models. The sweater is beautiful, too! Great job!
