Welcome to my blog, named after the less-famous elevation of my suburb here in Colorado (the more-famous being 5280, that of Denver). Here you'll find me pondering life and knitting, and everything in between. Thanks for visiting, and drop me a note!

FO Report:  Karlsro sweater
Designer: Cornelia Tuttle Hamilton
Pattern Source: CTH Book #2 for Noro, available here
Yarn:
Noro Silk Garden #86 (reds) -- I used the same amount that CTH recommended (8 balls I think)
Yarn Source: My ebay store
Needle Size:
US 10 (I believe)
Date Completed: August 2004

This photo is partially for Julia who knit a Karlsro, too ... I told her that I'd post a photo eons ago ... where's yours, Julia? :)

Anyhow, this is a great sweater and I wear it all the time actually.  As you can see, it looks best with black outfits, black dresses, etc.  Slight disadvantages: no pockets;  it's a tie-on, so not an easy-on, easy-off cardigan;  if you have a pooch, it'll show (again, go with black);  and the edging was kind of a pain to PU.

However, I get many compliments on it, it was a fun side-to-side sweater, and for only 8 balls of Silk Garden, who can complain?  Let me know if you knit one and I'll link you here!

Looking fabulous! I need to try a little Noro sometime soon. And a little Koigu. And a little Mango Moon. Lots of fibers I haven't gotten my hands on yet.

As for the custom-made labels, SO many people have asked that it's time to make a little linkadink about it. I'm going to put a page together today/tomorrow, I'll send you the link. It's fun and so easy and (best of all) completely custom!

Take care,
Kathy

I think it's great you got a handmade navel ring. I'd love to see a picture of it!

Wow, your Karlsro is great and so is your Charlotte's Web! I love both of those patterns. Being a bit behind the times knitting-wise I'm currently half-way through my own Klaralund.
Did you get my message about Phoebe? I would still love to be part of the knit-along. I have some off white cashmerino that I was thinking of using. Still haven't gotten around to setting up a blog drive account or photo-hosting, or any of that. I just have to sit down and do it! Anyway as always, your projects really are inspirational!
